I am cycle training for a London to Paris cycle ride in July, I will arrive the day before the end to the Tour de France.
Training hard at the moment and did the famous Cragg Vale, the longest unbroken climb in England and one of the top 100 climbs. The Cragg Vale Loop that starts and ends in Todmorden, accounted for roughly half of my ride.
Map of Route
It was a very difficult route starting and finishing in Rawtenstall, lots of climbing (over 1000m) but need to start increasing my distances if I am going to complete the 450 km from London to Paris in a few months time. The planned ride is on behalf of the children’s charity MedEquip4Kids. They raise money for medical equipment for children across the country. They will raise money for any medical conditions effecting children, but their main focus in 2016 is children’s mental health. This sadly is an area often overlooked for funding. the rise in children’s mental health problems most notably in children’s eating disorders has prompted this strategy to raise awareness and improve provision to help children suffering from many types of mental health issues such as anxiety, depression, anorexia and bulimia.
